The nozzles are made from Delrin®, a rigid plastic used to manufacture self lubricating low friction bearings. Delrin® is resistant to most organic solvants, has a high melting point and machines very well. The nozzles can be sterilized in bleach, boiled in water or cleaned in your dishwasher. Vaseline will not affect this material.
All nozzles are shaped from a single piece of Delrin® on a wood lathe then polished to a high gloss finish. The nozzle bore is a single drilled through hole with a diameter of 5/32". Two hose barb sizes are available; drugstore 1/4" and Klystra 3/8". As a general rule, the shaft of the nozzle is about 1/2 the maximum diameter, ie. if the nozzle is 1 1/2" at the largest point the shaft will be about 3/4" at the thinnest. The flange will be about the same as the maximum diameter. The smaller nozzles will weigh 2 to 3 ounces, larger nozzles can be a pound or more.
